With a surface of about 350.000 m2, the City of Arts and Sciences is a ludic-cultural place which surprises with its architecture and its inmense capacity for teaching, entertaining and stimulating the minds of its visitors.

Two Spanish architects of international prestige have carried out with this great proyect: Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela with the striking roofs of the main buildings of the Oceanográfico (Aquarium).

Of over 17.500 square metres with an exhibition zone buildings, lakes, walkways, and landscaped. Its is, , and of tropical countries, and changes according to the season of the year:

  • L’Umbracle, is a great point from which all the areas of the City of Arts and Sciences can be contemplated. It has vegetation of the Region of Valencia and it also contains an interesting exhibition of contemporary sculptures by internationally acknowledged artists in the Art Promenade.
  • El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, surprising and majestic building with more than 40.000m2 with four major halls for opera and major musical shows.
  • El Museo Príncipe Felipe, the first model in the world of science museums of the XXI century for getting to know in a didactic, interactive, and entertaining way everything to do with life, science, and technology.
    It is surrounded by 13.500 m2 of water.
  • L’Hemisfèric, symbolizes a human eye, called The Universe Eye too with an ovoid roof over 100 metres long that contains in its interior the large sphere that constitutes the projection room.
  • L’Oceanogràfic, is the biggest aquatic park in Europe and contains over 45,000 individuals of 500 different species. Conceived as a natural park, it has the most important marine ecosystems of the world.
